Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) have an open-circuit design that provides air rated for 30 to 60 minutes. They consist of a wearable, clean-air supply, and a tight-fitting facepiece, and are used for work done in environments that are or could be immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). MSA offers a full line of portable single-gas and multigas detection instruments for confined space monitoring. All gas detection units feature long sensor lifespans, reliable performance, and easy-to-use interfaces. Only MSA gas detection monitors offer potentially life-saving features: MotionAlert and InstantAlert. MotionAlert alerts others in the area if a worker is down due to hazardous gas exposure or other threats. Industrial head protection is tested for penetration resistance (Type I & II) and impact attenuation (Type II only). Helmets that meet the requirements of these standards are classified as a Type I helmet or a Type II.
