Avon Protection Systems, a division of Avon Rubber, p.l.c., is a world leader in the design, testing, and manufacture of advanced CBRN respiratory protection solutions for the world’s military, law enforcement, first responder, emergency services, fire, and industrial markets. Avon has unique capabilities in CBRN protection, based on a range of advanced CBRN technologies in respirator design, filtration, and compressed air breathing apparatus. This enables Avon to develop specialized solutions that take full account of user requirements.
Avon’s main protection products are full face respirators or gas masks (product names include: C50, FM53, FM12, M50 and M53); the NIOSH CBRN approved Emergency Escape Hood (NH15) and tactical self-contained breathing apparatus, or SCBA (ST53, ST53SD and Viking ST); as well as Powered Air Purifying Respirators or PAPR’s (STPAPR, C420). These respirators, SCBAs, PAPR’s and Emergency Escape Hoods offer varying levels of breathing protection against nuclear, chemical, radiological, and biological threats, for tactical Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Military, and First Responder teams.
The tactical SCBA equipment offers protection in oxygen-depleted environments for use by SWAT, SRT teams, paramilitary forces, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) units, among others.
The newest addition to the Avon product line, the NIOSH CBRN approved Emergency Escape Hood (NH15) was introduced to provide a compact yet full level of CBRN protection, providing up to 15 minutes to escape a wide variety of situations.
Avon also provides a variety of filters for all of their respirators, including a unique line of conformal filters that provide streamlined and well balanced filtration options. In addition, Avon also offers thermal imaging equipment as well as the enhanced Viking Z Seven SCBA was recently introduced to meet new National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards in the USA.
